On Tuesday, residents of Koutala, Bejjur, and Chintalamanepalli mandals in Kumram Bheem Asifabad experienced mild tremors for a few seconds, leaving them in shock. The three mandals are located on the banks of Pranahita river, a tributary of Godavari and on the borders of Maharashtra. Interestingly, parts of the bordering Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra also felt the tremors for a second.
The residents reported sensing tremors in the ground and quickly came out of their homes to assess the situation. While the tremors lasted only briefly, they caused concern among the locals. The cause of the tremors is not yet known and there have been no reports of any damage or injuries.

The Geological Survey of India has identified several areas in the country as being prone to earthquakes.
