Hyderabad: People living in Tolichowki are upset with the bad road conditions caused by unfinished projects. These roads have become hazardous after being dug up for work and then ignored.
Everyday travel has turned into a struggle for residents in areas like Surya Nagar, Aditya Nagar, Nizam Colony, and others. The GHMC only handles projects under its departments, leaving other areas neglected, especially after sewer and water pipeline installations.
“Asif Hussain Sohail,” a resident of Surya Nagar, shared his frustration. “The road was dug up a month ago, but no progress has been made, causing major issues and traffic jams.”
The residents’ group has urged the GHMC and water department to finish the work soon, but it remains incomplete. According to Sohail, the water board’s Managing Director told officers to complete the work, but there’s been no urgency from the circle officers.
Residents highlight that the SNDP projects started four years ago but are still ongoing. “Most colonies in Tolichowki are dug up and left in poor condition. Complaints haven’t resolved anything. The inner lanes remain in bad shape,” said Syed Sahabuddin from Nizam Colony.
The road near Seven Tombs is particularly dangerous. Even if some parts are repaired, ongoing work ruins them again.
“Work progresses very slowly. Even finished areas are still left dug up,” noted Mohammed Nayeem, a local resident. After three years, the road at Seven Tombs – Tolichowki was finally laid, yet work continues near Apple Hospital and Surya Nagar.
Additionally, social media is buzzing with memes about the ongoing roadwork issues in MD Lines and other Tolichowki areas.
