Hyderabad: The Telangana government has taken action against Engineer-in-Chief G Anil Kumar from the Irrigation Department. He has been removed from his high-ranking position due to a case involving disproportionate assets. Anil Kumar is accused of supporting Irrigation official N Sridhar, who is under investigation by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB).

The ACB found evidence suggesting that Anil Kumar helped Sridhar avoid a transfer. Rahul Bojja, the Irrigation Secretary, had ordered Sridhar, an Executive Engineer in Choppadandi, Karimnagar district, to move to the head office on June 27 last year. Despite this, Sridhar stayed in his position without notifying the head office for a year.

Investigations reveal that Anil Kumar may have blocked Sridhar’s transfer secretly, without informing the Secretary. The ACB has collected substantial evidence showing the connection between the two officials.
