Hyderabad:

During a heated discussion on the Budget in Hyderabad, both the Treasury and Opposition accused each other of having ‘half-knowledge.’ The debate was initiated by former Minister T Harish Rao on Saturday.

Harish Rao’s discussion on the Budget touched on the power sector. In response to allegations from Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Rao called him a ‘half-knowledge fellow.’ Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy then used the same phrase to criticize the entire BRS party. He claimed that while Harish Rao has ‘half-knowledge,’ the party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao has ‘full-knowledge,’ and made a gesture resembling a ‘liquor bottle.’

Revanth Reddy countered Harish Rao’s claims about installing meters on agricultural pump sets. He stated that contrary to Rao’s claims, the previous BRS government signed an agreement on January 4, 2017, to install meters at distribution transformers within six months. Revanth Reddy mentioned that Ajay Mishra, representing the State government, signed the ‘tripartite agreement’ with DISCOMs and the Central government.

Revanth Reddy criticized the Opposition for misleading people and clarified that the former CM KCR had entered into an agreement with the Modi government to install meters within six months. He suggested that Harish Rao should review the agreement before making false statements. He reiterated his point, mocking the BRS chief with a gesture of a bottle.

Earlier, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy interrupted Harish Rao’s discussion, alleging that the former BRS government deceived people. He questioned the absence of KCR, who had previously challenged the State government over the budget on July 25. Venkat Reddy accused Harish Rao of misleading the house and noted KCR’s failure to address the Union government’s denial of funds.
