Prateek Jain, who is the Project Officer at ITDA Bhadrachalam, is advising people in tribal villages to take precautions to avoid getting sick during the upcoming monsoon season. He is urging them to keep their surroundings clean and drain rainwater from containers like coolers, flowerpots, old tubs, buckets, and tires around their homes. Stagnant rainwater can attract mosquitoes that carry diseases like dengue, malaria, chicken pox, rabies, and encephalitis.
Jain is recommending that the tribal communities observe dry days on Tuesdays and Fridays each week. If there is an outbreak of fevers or diseases in their areas, people should contact the ASHA worker or medical staff in their villages. The medical staff will then collect samples and send them to the government hospital for blood tests.
It is important for the tribal villagers to follow these precautions to stay healthy during the monsoon season. Taking these simple steps can help prevent the spread of diseases and keep the community safe.
