The Revanth government in Telangana is now focusing on improving the state’s economy by creating an environment for the growth of industries. The Chief Minister met with representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to discuss a “friendly industrial policy” to attract investments. The government plans to introduce a ‘Mega Master Plan-2050’ to invite investments for industries across Telangana. The Chief Minister assured that every rupee invested by industrialists would be safeguarded and enhance the value of their investment.
The Congress government wants to dispel doubts that it only focuses on rural welfare and village development. The Chief Minister aims for all regions of Telangana to grow like Hyderabad and urged enthusiasts and industrialists to cooperate for implementing an industry-friendly policy.
As part of the policy, Telangana will be divided into three clusters: an Urban Cluster within the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR), a Semi Urban Cluster between the ORR and the Regional Ring Road (RRR), and a Rural Cluster in the surrounding area after the RRR. These clusters aim to encourage the establishment of industries. The government also plans to develop pharma villages instead of pharma cities, with required infrastructure and amenities like schools and hospitals in a pollution-free environment.
In Zaheerabad, food processing, sports, automobile, organic clusters, as well as IT, pharma, and health industries, will be established. The Chief Minister highlighted the potential for manufacturing and production of Defense equipment and Navy sector in Hyderabad. A new solar power policy will be introduced to incentivize investors in the Solar Energy sector.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the government does not consider the estimated 35 lakh unemployed people in the state as a burden. They are seen as valuable human resources for participating in industrial development. Skill Universities will be established to provide skill development training and job opportunities for educated unemployed youth.
Salient features of the plan include dividing the state into three clusters, developing an Urban Cluster within the Hyderabad ORR, a Semi Urban Cluster between the ORR and the RRR, and a rural cluster in the surrounding area after the RRR.
