The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has announced that it will pay its employees a Dearness Allowance (DA) along with their June salary. This is to celebrate Telangana’s 10th anniversary. The Managing Director of TSRTC, VC Sajjanar, made the announcement during a meeting. The company will be paying the 4.9 percent DA that is due in July 2022. TSRTC employees played an active role in the Telangana movement and the company has decided to grant the pending 7th DA as a gift for the state celebrations.
In 2011, TSRTC employees participated in the SakalaJanula strike for about 29 days. They fought for a separate state and were an integral part of the Telangana movement. The company has already sanctioned seven DAs even under difficult circumstances. The remaining DA will be announced to the employees soon.
