The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has condemned the attacks on their staff by passengers. The staff members are dedicated, well-trained, and safely transport millions of passengers every day. TSRTC warns that legal action will be taken against anyone interfering with staff duties or assaulting them. The corporation will work with the police to open history sheets against the attackers. TSRTC will not tolerate incidents that undermine the morale of their staff.

In recent incidents, bus conductors were attacked by passengers at different locations. Verbal abuse and physical attacks were directed towards the conductors. The TSRTC has filed complaints with the police and investigations are underway. Legal action will be taken against the culprits.

The MD of TSRTC, VC Sajjanar, stated that the staff follows the corporation’s rules and regulations. Passengers are urged to cooperate and purchase tickets during their journey. Failure to do so may lead to departmental action against the staff. TSRTC appeals to everyone to support the staff by following proper ticketing procedures.

TSRTC also implemented the Mahalakshmi scheme, which provides free bus travel for women. The scheme is successfully implemented, with around 27 lakh women passengers benefitting daily. However, there have been instances where passengers used photocopies or smartphone images of identity cards instead of the original. TSRTC emphasizes that the original identity card must be presented to avail of the Mahalakshmi scheme.
