Two contractual workers were electrocuted to death while they were working on a construction project near Vyasa Sarobar in Jajpur district. The workers, Rejabul Seikh and Indrajeet Mandal from West Bengal, were cutting rods with an electrical metal cutter when the machine got connected to electricity due to a leakage in the electrical circuit. They were electrocuted and lost consciousness.
Fellow workers at the site rushed them to Jajpur Road Hospital, but the doctors declared them brought dead. The police have arrived at the scene, seized the bodies, and sent them for postmortem. An investigation into the accident has been initiated.
