Hyderabad: Professor M. Ghanashyam Krishna from the University of Hyderabad’s School of Physics has achieved a notable honor. He has been chosen as an Academician of the Asia Pacific Academy of Materials (APAM). This marks a significant moment in his esteemed career.
APAM is a leading scientific organization that fosters cooperation in advanced materials research across the Asia-Pacific region. Its members come from countries like India, China, Japan, Korea, Australia, and Russia. Prof. Krishna is now the second faculty member from the University of Hyderabad to receive this recognition, following Prof. T.P. Radhakrishnan from the School of Chemistry.
The election of Prof. Krishna highlights his groundbreaking contributions in the fields of thin films, nanostructured materials, and sensor technologies. Since joining the university in 2001, he has spearheaded research in electronic, optical, and optoelectronic applications. His work includes innovations in metal-induced crystallization of silicon and developing substrates for self-cleaning and oil-water separation.
