Hyderabad: People from India looking for jobs in the United States might have to wait longer for work visas. This is because the US Department of State warned of possible delays due to increased demand.
The department pointed out that there is a high demand in the EB-5 (investor visa) category. This might cause delays. The Visa Bulletin for May 2026 mentioned that this category might temporarily close to stay within the yearly limits.
Officials are keeping a close eye on the situation. Adjustments will be made if needed, according to the bulletin.
They stated that more Indians are applying for the EB-5 unreserved visas, which might lead to setting back the final action date or even closing the category temporarily to meet the annual limit for FY 2026.
