In Hyderabad, Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy defended himself against accusations from the BJP and BRS, claiming that they were influenced by millers. He stated that the Congress government has been tough on millers and supportive of farmers since taking office.

Uttam, along with other government officials, held a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan to address the false accusations made by the BJP and BRS. He emphasized that the ruling party had purchased more paddy and paid farmers faster than the BRS government had done.

The Minister highlighted the financial mess left by the previous BRS government, with debts and losses amounting to billions of rupees. He explained that the current government had taken steps to support farmers, including purchasing rain-damaged grain at MSP and implementing measures to reduce wastage.

Uttam clarified that allegations of corruption in grain purchases were unfounded, as only a small portion of grain had been bought so far. He refuted claims about relaxed tender rules and blacklisted companies, stating that the government had nothing to do with past blacklisting decisions.

In response to opposition propaganda, Uttam warned that spreading false information is harmful to the state. He also accused the BJP floor leader of buying his position, stating that such practices are not part of their political culture.
