State irrigation authorities are surveying the damaged Medigadda barrage for repairs. The inspection was initiated following a directive from State Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy to execute the NDSA interim report on the barrage. The team of officials assessed the local conditions to address the repair needs of the damaged piers.

Accompanied by representatives from L&T Company, the irrigation officials conducted the inspection. Repair works are expected to be completed before the monsoon season begins and the river Godavari receives water from catchment areas in Maharashtra.
