Passengers traveling in the new Vande Bharat trains will now have a more comfortable experience. The railways have made several improvements, such as better seating and extended footrests in the executive chair car. The ministry also plans to introduce more Vande Bharat trains across the railways, including the South Central Railway.
Currently, 25 pairs of Vande Bharat trains are in operation across the railways. In the South Central Railway, two pairs are running between Secunderabad and Tirupati, and Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam, with nearly 120% patronage. The new Vande Bharat trains have been designed to be more comfortable, safer, aesthetic, and energy efficient.
The improvements in the new trains were made based on feedback and suggestions from passengers. A dozen technological changes have been incorporated to enhance the travel experience. These include increased reclination angle of seats, optimized cushion hardness, improved accessibility of mobile charging points, deeper wash basins in lavatories to avoid splashing, better lighting in toilets, provision for securing wheelchairs, and improved emergency access.
Other features of the new trains include hinged transparent door assemblies for fire extinguishers for better visibility during emergencies, improved air conditioning with insulation, and smooth touch controls for luggage rack lights.
These enhancements aim to provide passengers with a more comfortable and convenient travel experience on the Vande Bharat trains.
