Hyderabad: Former MP V Hanumantha Rao called for all political parties to unite and push for the BC reservation bill. He questioned why the BJP did not appoint a BC leader as the State president.
At a media briefing at Gandhi Bhavan, Rao expressed confidence that the Congress could achieve the reservation, despite opposition claims that it is impossible.
He challenged BJP MPs who criticize the State government to support the effort in Delhi for the approval of the BC reservation.
Rao suggested amending Schedule 9 and removing the 50 percent reservation limit. He questioned whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an OBC himself, would support this change. He noted they are observing how BJP MPs from the State and Modi respond during Parliamentary sessions, which will show who truly supports BCs.
