During an IPL 2023 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants, RCB pacer Mohammed Siraj showed concern for KL Rahul when he was injured and hugged him after the match. Rahul had injured himself while trying to save a boundary and had to be taken off the field. Despite returning to bat when his team was in trouble, he did not look comfortable at the crease. The picture of Siraj hugging Rahul has gone viral on social media.

In the same match, RCB defended a modest 126 and beat Lucknow Super Giants by 18 runs. Josh Hazlewood and Karn Sharma picked two wickets each, while Siraj, Glenn Maxwell, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Harshal Patel took one wicket each to bowl out Lucknow for 108 in 19.5 overs. The win took RCB to fifth place with ten points due to net run rate, while Lucknow slipped to third place but still has ten points.
