Water board head urges officials to stay alert

Hyderabad: The state is experiencing heavy rains, and the Meteorological Department predicts more rain for the next four days. Ashok Reddy, the Managing Director of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), has ordered officials to stay alert and take steps to keep people safe.

In a recent meeting, Reddy instructed the Emergency Response Teams (ERT) to be on standby 24/7, focusing on sewage overflow problems. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and HYDRA have pinpointed 141 areas in the city prone to waterlogging. Officials must watch these spots closely and conduct immediate desilting if manholes overflow.
