A woman caused panic on an IndiGo flight traveling from Shamshabad Airport to Bhubaneswar after she tried to open the emergency exit door just before takeoff.
The incident happened while the plane was taxiing from the parking area to the runway. The passenger, who is from Karnataka, attempted to open the emergency door, raising alarms among the crew and nearby passengers.
IndiGo staff quickly stepped in and stopped her. A heated argument followed between the woman and the airline crew. The pilot decided to halt the flight for safety reasons.
The woman was removed from the aircraft and handed over to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) police. Authorities have registered a case and started an investigation.
Later, officials confirmed that the woman appeared to be mentally unstable, which may have led to her actions. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the flight resumed after the delay.
This incident highlights the importance of strict pre-flight checks and passenger monitoring to ensure aviation safety.
