Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy led a high-level delegation to the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos, where the state of Telangana secured a major commitment from the global forum to partner in its ambitious development roadmap. The meeting with WEF Managing Director Jeremy Jurgens and Manju George, Head of Strategic Impact and Integration, C4IR Network, took place at the Telangana Pavilion during the prestigious annual gathering.

During the discussions, Chief Minister Reddy proposed an innovative idea to host an annual follow-up WEF in Hyderabad during July or August. The proposal aims to create a platform for reviewing and advancing discussions and decisions made during the main WEF event in January, addressing the challenge that a one-year gap poses in today’s fast-paced business environment. Telangana offered to partner with WEF as a strategic collaborator in organizing this follow-up forum.

“Seeing is believing. We would like to showcase to the world the wonderful opportunities and resources our state can offer. So we are ready to host WEF follow-up meet annually in Hyderabad,” the Chief Minister stated. The WEF team responded positively to the proposal, despite receiving similar offers from several countries. Jeremy Jurgens mentioned that while the ‘Summer Davos’ is currently held annually in China and Saudi Arabia has shown strong interest, they would take Telangana’s proposal forward in the near future.

The Chief Minister presented the Telangana Rising 2047 vision and the comprehensive strategy being implemented to transform the state into a $3 trillion economy. Both sides discussed the progress of C4IR Telangana (Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution), which was launched in Hyderabad at BioAsia 2024. This center represents WEF’s first thematic center for healthcare and life sciences in India, focusing on health-tech innovation, policy development, and workforce skilling through partnerships with industry and academia.

Jurgens praised the launch of C4IR Telangana at BioAsia as a very positive role model for WEF in India. Speaking about the Chief Minister’s 2047 vision, he emphasized that the various facets of the vision open up numerous opportunities for mutual cooperation. “We would like to partner in the Telangana Rising vision and be a part of the journey. Hyderabad has a great talent base,” he stated. The WEF MD also explained about C4IR’s research work on best practices in planning industrial clusters and offered to share this information with C4IR Telangana.

Minister D. Sridhar Babu explained the state’s new economic development strategy called “CURE, PURE, RARE” and detailed the Bharat Future City project, a net-zero greenfield smart city initiative designed to be a role model for sustainable urban development in India. The delegation, which also included Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, highlighted Hyderabad’s leading capabilities in aerospace, defence, bio-design, software, and pharmaceuticals.

The ministers emphasized the government’s current focus on promoting electric vehicles and transitioning to renewable energy. They also outlined various skilling initiatives being undertaken through newly launched Advanced Technology Centres, the Young India Skills University, and the Young India Sports University. The Chief Minister noted that the main priority areas for the younger population are skilling and sports development.

Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan was also present during this significant meeting at Davos. The Telangana delegation’s aggressive push to present the state’s progressive policies and growth strategies on the global stage marks a strategic effort to attract international partnerships and investments for the state’s long-term development goals.
