Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner, R V Karnan, has urged officials to quickly resolve complaints from the Prajavani programme. This public hearing took place at the GHMC headquarters on Monday, where citizens shared their concerns directly with the Commissioner.

The Commissioner stressed that officials should not be negligent. He instructed department heads to address each issue thoroughly to prevent recurring problems. He reviewed the complaints carefully and told related officials to ensure fast solutions.

In total, 194 complaints were received at the public hearing across GHMC headquarters and circle offices. At the headquarters, 81 complaints were recorded. The Town Planning Department had the most complaints with 42, followed by the Land Acquisition Department with 10. The Engineering Department received 7 complaints, while Tax, Sanitation, and Administration departments each got 4. The Housing Department received 3 complaints, while Finance, Project, UBD, and Vigilance departments received 2 or 1 each.

Meanwhile, 113 complaints came from the six zones under GHMC’s control. The Kukatpally Zone had the highest number with 51, followed by the Secunderabad Zone with 29, and the Serilingampally Zone with 17. The Charminar Zone received 8 complaints, while L B Nagar and Khairtabad Zones each received 4.

Additional Commissioners Pankaja, Geetha Radhika Venugopal, Mangatayaru, along with Chief Engineers and other officers, attended the meeting.
