Hyderabad: On Monday, the Telangana BJP strongly responded to the Congress party’s claims of election fraud. They dismissed the “vote chori” accusations as unfounded and a distraction from the Congress’s governance issues. N.V. Subhash, BJP’s State Chief Spokesperson, criticized TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud for unjustly targeting Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

Subhash argued that Goud’s questioning of Sanjay’s BC (Backward Class) identity shows political insecurity. He emphasized that Sanjay’s rise from a councillor to an MP was due to public support, not fake votes. Subhash noted that the Supreme Court had already validated the Election Commission’s efforts to clean up the voter rolls. He accused Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, of hypocrisy, saying they only praise the Election Commission when they win.

Subhash claimed the Congress government in Telangana has not fulfilled its promises and is spreading misinformation. BJP MLA Payala Shankar criticized Congress’s reservation policies, questioning why only 32% reservation is given to BCs if they make up 52% of the population. He also questioned the 10% reservation for Muslims under BC quotas, accusing Congress of ignoring BC interests.

Shankar challenged Congress to prove their claims of fraudulent votes. He urged Congress to remove any fake votes and agree to recounts in seats they won, emphasizing the need for transparency after being in power for 20 months.
