The Urban Community Development (UCD) wing of GHMC has launched a special campaign. They discovered 221 homeless individuals at busy intersections in Hyderabad. This effort aims to make the city free of beggars.

Officials visited locations such as Basheerbagh, Nampally, Secretariat, and Begum Bazar. They searched for homeless people at traffic stops and on sidewalks. From this group, 19 individuals were relocated to night shelters throughout the city. The rest, mostly from other towns, were given counseling and sent back.

The UCD wing announced that this initiative will expand to additional areas soon.
