Hyderabad: Six village leaders from Telangana have been chosen to participate in the Independence Day event at Red Fort in New Delhi.
The selected representatives are J Sharmila from Bhadradri Kothagudem, R Srinivas Reddy from Jangaon, V Srinivas from Mahbubnagar, M Dastagiri from Gadwal, Ramkishore from Peddapalli, and Y V Raju from Ranga Reddy. They will join other special guests from 28 states and union territories in the capital.
The Union Panchayati Raj Ministry announced on Thursday that a total of 210 village representatives will be present as honored guests. Approximately 425 people, including spouses and nodal officers, are expected to attend. This initiative highlights the Indian government’s dedication to strengthening local leadership.
This year’s theme, ‘Aatmnirbhar Panchayat, Viksit Bharat Ki Pahchan,’ emphasizes the importance of self-sufficient villages as a foundation for a developed India, according to the Ministry.
