Hyderabad is preparing for heavy rains over the next two days, as predicted by the IMD. The State Government has set up waterproof preparations for the Independence Day events at Golkonda Fort and in district centers. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and other ministers will lead these celebrations.
At Golkonda Fort, waterproof tents have been installed for the Chief Minister to hoist the national flag and deliver a speech on Friday morning. Officials from the State Roads and Buildings Department confirmed that these white tents are placed within the fort’s courtyard. This year, the traditional open-air area of about one acre, where parades and cultural performances occur in the Rani Mahal section, is also covered.
The stage for children’s cultural shows is protected by these tents. Additionally, waterproof mats are laid on the grass to ensure stability during the parade.
The event expects over 5,000 guests, including dignitaries, schoolchildren, and city visitors. More than 800 police officers are stationed around the venue. Security is tight with police teams, access control, and crowd management in place. Visitors are encouraged to bring raincoats and umbrellas.
