Hyderabad: On Monday, 93 students from Korutla Agricultural College moved to Polasa (Jagityala) Agricultural College. This change was part of a decision by the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS), under Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU).
The transition event at Polasa (Jagityala) College saw attendance from important figures like PJTAU Dean of Agriculture Dr. K. Jhansi Rani, Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Challa Venu Gopala Reddy, and Associate Dean Dr. Bharathi Narayana Bhat. Also present were TGSWREIS Additional Secretary N. Kiranmayi and Joint Secretary PSR Sharma. The existing students at Polasa (Jagityala) College greeted the newcomers warmly with rose flowers during an introductory session led by the teaching staff.
This successful transfer owes much to the efforts of PJTAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Aldas Janaiah. Following a review meeting, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy proposed the transfer to benefit the students’ future. Since then, Professor Janaiah and TGSWREIS Secretary Dr. Alugu Varshini coordinated extensively. They formed a committee with officials from both PJTAU and TGSWREIS, which met multiple times to tackle various aspects.
The committee devised a plan for the transfer and submitted a report. This report led to approvals from the PJTAU Academic Council, Faculty Board, and Governing Body. With the process finalized, students and their parents expressed deep gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, IAS officer Alugu Varshini, and Vice-Chancellor Janaiah for providing this valuable opportunity.
