Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police have taken legal action against well-known YouTuber Anvesh, who runs the popular channel Naa Anveshana. He is accused of spreading false claims about top IAS and IPS officials in relation to a betting app scam.

Anvesh recently posted a video on his YouTube channel, where he alleged that some senior government officials accepted a bribe of ₹300 crore. According to him, this money was paid to allow the operation and advertising of illegal betting apps, including promotions in the Hyderabad Metro Rail.

Following this, the police registered a suo motu case—meaning they acted on their own initiative—after receiving a complaint about the video. In it, Anvesh also claimed that ₹1,000 crore worth of transactions took place through these betting platforms.

He didn’t stop at officials. The video also named several Tollywood actors and social media influencers, accusing them of endorsing these apps and making money from it.

Authorities strongly denied the allegations. They called the video false, misleading, and potentially harmful to public trust. The First Information Report (FIR) says the video aims to damage the reputation of honest government officers and mislead the public.

Officials warned that spreading such unverified information could disturb public order. They have begun legal proceedings against Anvesh for publishing defamatory and baseless content online.

The police emphasized they are committed to upholding the truth and protecting the integrity of public institutions.
