Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) hosted the public hearing program ‘Prajavani’ at its headquarters and all circle offices, receiving 152 complaints in total.
During the event at the GHMC headquarters, 55 complaints were collected. Across six zones, 97 applications were submitted: Kukatpally zone received 44 complaints, Secunderabad 18, Serilingampally 18, L B Nagar 8, Charminar 7, and Khairtabad 2.
GHMC officials quickly forwarded these complaints and requests to the appropriate departments for immediate action. The event at the headquarters included CEO Sahadev Ratnakar, Additional Commissioners Venugopal Satyanarayana, Pankaja, Mangatayaru, Subhadra, and Joint Commissioners Mohan Reddy and Shankar.
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Disaster Response, Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) received 39 complaints in its public grievance program on Monday. Most issues were about encroachments on drains and lakes. Other concerns included encroachments on parks, government lands, and roads. Locals from the I S Sadan area in Santosh Nagar Division reported flooding after rains.
Areas like Bapughat in Langar Houz and the Tolichowki flyover face severe issues during rainfall. Residents noted water buildup near Yashoda Hospital in Somajiguda, affecting neighborhoods in nearby Panjagutta.
In Journalist Colony, concerns about floodwater near CVR News in Jubilee Hills were raised. Redirecting this water to KBR Park was suggested as a solution.
