Hyderabad: Allegations of corruption have led the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to conduct surprise inspections on Thursday. These checks targeted Road Transport Authority (RTA) offices, check posts, and sub-registrar offices throughout the state.
The ACB inspected the Salabatpur RTA Check post in Kamareddy District and the RTA offices in Peddapalli, Trimulgherry, and Uppal. During these inspections, officials found and seized Rs 1,81,030 that was not accounted for. They also discovered various irregularities.
Further surprise checks took place at sub-registrar offices in Burgampadu of Khammam District and Bheemadevarapally of Warangal District. The authorities confiscated Rs 91,000 in unaccounted money and noticed several discrepancies. A report detailing these findings will be sent to the government for appropriate action.
In a different case, the ACB apprehended Battala Raj Kumar, an Accounts Officer, and Kondra Ravi Kumar, a Computer Operator, both from the Adilabad municipality. They were caught accepting a Rs 15,000 bribe from a complainant in exchange for an official favor.
