Justice (retired) Jayant Nath has become the acting Chairman of the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC). He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Power Minister Atishi. CM Arvind Kejriwa congratulated Justice Nath on Twitter and expressed his government’s full support. Atishi stated that with Justice Nath’s experience, the government is ready to enhance and improve Delhi’s electricity department.

Former DERC Chairman Justice Shabihul Hussain’s term ended on January 9, 2023, leaving the position vacant for about 8 months. Justice Jayant Nath has now taken charge of the position. His appointment will expedite the work of the people of Delhi. The Supreme Court nominated him for the position due to the inability of the Delhi government and Lieutenant Governor to reach a consensus.
