Hyderabad: Tollywood actress Sowmya Janu has officially inaugurated a five-day Handloom Expo at the Kalinga Cultural Hall, located on Road No. 12 in Banjara Hills. The event is organized by Jagdishwar Hastkala.

The main goal of this handloom exhibition is to support weavers and give a boost to the handloom industry by providing them with a market to sell their products. According to the event organizer Jayesh Kumar, the exhibition aims to bring pure silk and cotton products directly from the weavers to the customers, eliminating the need for middlemen.

Jayesh Kumar further emphasized that such exhibitions help create a good market for weavers and their handloom products, even in areas where organizing exhibitions might not be practical. The expo is set to continue until August 24, 2024, and will be open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
