However, Gilchrist has now clarified that he is not the richest cricketer and that Sachin Tendulkar’s position at the top of the list is safe. The confusion arose because the magazine mistook Gilchrist for his namesake, who is the founder of F45, a US-based operator of fitness centers.
The list of richest cricketers in the world, as per CEOWorld Magazine, includes Sachin Tendulkar with an estimated net worth of $170 million. Although Tendulkar has retired from cricket, he is still very popular and associated with several brands. He was also the co-owner of the ISL franchise Kerala Blasters.
Other cricketers on the list include MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis, Brian Lara, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, and Steve Smith. While cricket remains a popular sport worldwide, it is interesting to note the significant wealth some of its players have accumulated over the years.
