AgHub at PJTAU enhances farming innovation

Hyderabad recently witnessed a lively event celebrating entrepreneurship and innovation. AgHub, part of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTAU), held a Startup Graduation Ceremony on its campus. This event highlighted a major achievement in India’s agri-tech sector, recognizing 15 startups that successfully completed their incubation at AgHub.

Dr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Managing Director of AgHub, and Dr. G. E. Ch. Vidya Sagar, Registrar of PJTAU, stressed the need to support agri-entrepreneurs to create a sustainable agricultural system.

CEO Vijay Nadiminti spoke about AgHub’s progress, noting that they have incubated over 127 startups so far, with 13 graduating. He emphasized AgHub’s crucial role in promoting farmer-focused innovations and scalable agri-business models. “These startups are solving real issues for farmers and rural areas,” Nadiminti stated.

The event featured notable guests, including Deepthi Sunil from NABARD TGRO and Sita Pallacholla, CEO of WE Hub. They discussed how partnerships and innovation are vital for strengthening the agri-startup ecosystem and promoting inclusive growth.

PJTAU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Aldas Janaiah, and AgHub Chairman reiterated the university’s dedication to empowering entrepreneurs transforming agriculture. “We are proud to back startups creating sustainable farming solutions,” he said.

A key moment was the launch of a Robotic Leafy Vegetable Harvester by Aryuva Pvt. Ltd., a startup aided by AgHub’s Bootstrap Grant. This device is set to change how leafy greens are harvested, boosting efficiency and reducing labor needs.

Other highlights included the unveiling of the AgHub Portfolio Book, detailing the journey and impact of the startups, and signing shareholder agreements under NABARD’s Catalytic Capital Fund. NABARD-supported grantees also received award letters, highlighting the partnership between financial institutions and innovation hubs.

AgHub remains a leading platform for agricultural innovation, helping startups scale their technologies, transforming rural areas, and making a lasting impact on India’s agri-food ecosystem. With each new group of graduates, AgHub strengthens its mission to build a future-ready agriculture sector through innovation and entrepreneurship, according to the Vice Chancellor.
