Congress party leaders protested at the Dr. Ambedkar statue in Khammam on Monday to show their support for wrestlers who are demanding action against the Wrestling Federation of India president, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, for sexually harassing them. The wrestlers have been on a dharna (protest) and the Congress leaders took out a solidarity rally to show their support.

The City Congress Convener, Mahamood Javeed, criticized the NDA government led by the BJP for not responding to the matter and instead harassing the protesting wrestlers. He said that there is no justice for women in the BJP government and it indicates that the BJP government supports leaders who commit crimes. Javeed directly questioned Modi’s silence on this matter and demanded that the WFI chief be arrested immediately.
