Gadwal: In a big move to help farmers in Alampur, the government has approved the construction of a new link canal. This canal will connect the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS) to the Chinnonipalli Reservoir, which is only 3 kilometers away from the RDS canal. Farmers believe this project will solve long-standing irrigation problems and make sure even the farmers at the far ends get enough water.
To celebrate this important approval, a special ceremony was held today at Vishranthi Bhavan in Aija town. Leaders from the Congress Party, public groups, farmers, and Youth Congress members came together for the event. The ceremony included a unique tradition called milk anointment (Palaabhishekam), showing their gratitude.
During a press conference at the event, MC. Nandu, official spokesperson of the Jogulamba Gadwal District Congress Party, and state youth leader KMS. Shravan Kumar Royal explained the importance of the project. They said the new canal would help every farmer in the area, boost agricultural production, and bring more income to the region.
They also shared that the benefits from this new link canal would be four times greater than those expected from the proposed Mallamma Kunta reservoir. They reassured the public that the government is making decisions with the people’s welfare in mind and asked citizens not to believe in false rumors spread by those who are misinformed.
As a sign of respect and appreciation, Nagar Kurnool MP Mallu Ravi and AICC Secretary Sampath Kumar were honored with milk anointment ceremonies during the event. They were recognized for their key roles in getting the project approved.
Many Youth Congress leaders and farmers’ association members attended the event. Some of the participants included Youth Congress General Secretary KMR. Yesu, Konkala Krishna, Srinivas Yadav, Jagadeesh Naidu, Alampur Youth Congress Vice President Ganesh, and several Youth Congress Presidents and Vice Presidents like Rajesh, Vijay, Narsimha, Shekhar, Vinod, Prakash, and Bhaskar. Others like Vavilala David, Tirumal, Prem, Suresh, and Pavan were also present.
The event was lively and full of enthusiasm. People cheered in support of the Congress Party and shared their hopes that the new link canal would bring a brighter future for the farmers of Alampur.
