On World Environment Day, a group of cyclists cleaned up the Ameenpur lake bed in Hyderabad. The cyclists belong to Happy Hyderabad Cycling, Hyderabad Cycling Revolution, and NGO Earth Needs You (ENY). They promote alternative mobility and gathered from different parts of the city, including Miyapur, Madhapur, Gachibowli, and Lingampally. Some cyclists even traveled over 50 km to participate in the clean-up.

Ameenpur Lake is a popular spot for birdwatchers and photographers in Hyderabad. It is home to flamingos, egrets, herons, cormorants, kingfishers, and river terns. However, garbage has been dumped all along the lake, affecting its ecosystem. To combat this issue, the cyclists cleaned up the lake bed.
