Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met former Minister K Jana Reddy on Thursday, sparking political speculation. Many believe that Jana Reddy might be given an important role as a Government Advisor. This meeting gained attention because it happened soon after the Congress party’s loss in the recent MLC elections.
Sources say that the meeting took place over lunch at Jana Reddy’s residence and lasted for more than half an hour. During the discussion, they talked about cabinet expansion and other important political matters in the state. The agenda for the upcoming cabinet meeting was also discussed. Additionally, Jana Reddy suggested a few names for the upcoming MLC elections under the MLA quota.
A day earlier, Jana Reddy had met Meenakshi Natarajan, the newly appointed AICC Telangana in-charge, at Gandhi Bhavan. During this meeting, he expressed his willingness to advise the state government on key issues. This made Thursday’s meeting even more significant, leading to speculation that the Chief Minister might have offered him the position of Chief Advisor.
Jana Reddy has not been actively involved in politics for some time, while his son, Jaiveer Reddy, has been making progress in political circles. Before the Lok Sabha elections, Jana Reddy had shown interest in contesting from the Nalgonda Parliamentary seat if the Congress party supported him.
Meanwhile, MLC Teenmar Mallanna accused Jana Reddy of influencing the caste census. However, Jana Reddy denied any involvement in the matter. He warned Mallanna against making false accusations and said he was ready for a debate to prove his point.
