Hyderabad celebrated the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 with a special event. The Telangana State Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd. hosted a Walkathon on Sunday to highlight the significance of cooperatives in community and economic growth.
The Walkathon kicked off at 7:00 AM from the Bank’s Head Office. Participants walked to Nampally and then returned to the starting point. Marneni Ravindar Rao, the President of the Bank, started the event. He emphasized that the Walkathon represents the power of teamwork and shared progress. He noted that cooperatives are crucial for empowering communities and aiding local development.
B Uday Bhaskar, the Chief General Manager of NABARD, praised the bank for promoting cooperative values like solidarity and inclusive growth. He stressed that such events help strengthen the cooperative sector.
The bank’s Managing Director, Y Krishna Rao, stated that the main goal of the Walkathon is to raise awareness about the cooperative sector’s importance and the role of banks in public welfare.
