Assam to Host ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’ Hyderabad Roadshow

The Government of Assam, in partnership with FICCI, is organizing the Hyderabad edition of its ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’ Roadshow. The event will take place on Thursday, January 23, from 10 AM to 5 PM at Hotel Taj Krishna. This roadshow is one of a series of events leading up to the Advantage Assam 2.0 – Investment & Infrastructure Summit 2025, which is set to be held on February 25-26 in Guwahati.

The Roadshow will be led by Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Assam’s Minister of Education and Welfare of Plain Tribe and Backward Classes. Senior officials from the government, including Additional Chief Secretary B. Kalyan Chakravarthy, Principal Secretary K.S. Gopinath Narayan, and Commissioner of Industries & Commerce Oinam S. Singh, will also participate. The team will present Assam’s pro-investment policies and engage directly with potential investors.

The event aims to showcase Assam’s economic transformation and highlight key investment opportunities in sectors like Electronics and Semiconductors, Aerospace and Defence Manufacturing, Renewable Energy, Pharmaceuticals, Food Processing, Tourism, and Hospitality. By doing so, the state hopes to attract businesses and innovative minds to help drive its growth and development.

Assam’s Vision for Growth

The Advantage Assam 2.0 initiative seeks to position Assam as a leading investment hub and a gateway to Southeast Asia. Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu emphasized that Assam is on a transformative journey, supported by enhanced infrastructure, natural resource availability, and an investor-friendly single-window clearance system. He stated, “We have already seen tremendous interest from national and international players in Assam’s potential. The Hyderabad Roadshow will build on this momentum and connect us with businesses that can contribute to Assam’s growth as a top investment destination.”

Assam has witnessed unprecedented growth, with over ₹65,000 crore invested in infrastructure development since 2014. Significant projects include the Tata Group’s establishment of India’s first Semiconductor Assembly and Test Unit in Jagiroad, construction of six-lane highways, and new bridges across the Brahmaputra River. Initiatives in healthcare and education, such as collaborations with Tata Trusts for cancer care and the creation of 23 medical colleges, further reinforce Assam’s development story.
