    The Telangana State police are getting ready for the upcoming Assembly elections. The State DGP Anjani Kumar has asked police officials to take precautions for security during visits of political leaders and movement of VVIPs. The DGP also mentioned the possibility of Maoist action teams moving in the border areas and advised officials to be cautious. He recently held a video conference with police officers from districts affected by left-wing extremism in the State. During the conference, he emphasized the need for police officers to remain vigilant and handle situations firmly.

    The DGP stressed the importance of enhancing security for VIPs during their visits to districts and warned that Maoists may attack one sector to create fear among people. He advised officers to remain alert at all times. The DGP reported that left-wing extremism has disappeared in Telangana due to the continuous efforts of the police department. However, since 80% of the State’s police force are new recruits, they should be more aware of Maoist strategies, actions, and attacks.

    During the conference, officials explained to the DGP the key attacks related to Maoist activities. Additional DGP (Operations) Vijay Kumar mentioned that special training would be provided to PSOs who provide security to VIPs in case of sudden Maoist attacks and unexpected situations. IG Prabhakar Rao reported that the situation of extremism in the State and the security measures to be taken by the police were explained through a PowerPoint presentation. He also stressed the importance of police constantly interacting with people at the village level to gather information about the movement of Maoists and new entrants at the village level.

    In conclusion, police officers should take adequate precautions regarding security during political visits and VVIP movement. They should remain vigilant and handle situations firmly. Since Maoists may attack one sector to create fear, officers should be alert at all times. Special training will be provided to PSOs who provide security to VIPs. Officers should constantly interact with people at the village level to gather information about the movement of Maoists and new entrants.
