The Telangana Assembly adopted a resolution for a comprehensive door-to-door survey to help Backward Classes, SC, and ST citizens. The government aims to gather information on socio-economic, educational, employment, political, and caste aspects.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening weaker sections. He mentioned the importance of suggestions from opposition parties for implementation. Previous surveys like the Samagra Kutumba were not discussed in the House or made public during the previous regime.

Opposition members wanted legality for the survey, citing examples of challenges faced by other states that conducted similar surveys. They suggested involving a judge or passing a bill for legitimacy. The issue of reservations for Muslims affecting BCs and the need for laws to protect BCs from atrocities were also raised during the discussion.
