The guitar has been put back together but is no longer playable.

The auction house expected the guitar to sell for around $60,000, but it eventually sold for $595,000. Nirvana’s popular songs included ‘Come As You Are’, ‘Lithium’, and ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’.
