The state government of Hyderabad is facing criticism for considering conducting Gaddar’s last rites with honors. Sashidhar, a critic, argues that this would disrespect the sacrifices made by both policemen and civilians in the anti-Naxalite struggle. Gaddar is known for his revolutionary songs that influenced many youths to join the Naxalite movement. Sashidhar believes that Gaddar’s literature encouraged armed rebellion against the democratic system and labeled those involved as traitors.
