Authorities encouraged to assist the poor in accessing welfare benefits

Government employees have a duty to help eligible people benefit from welfare schemes, said Additional Collector of Ranga Reddy district, Pratima Singh. She emphasized that it is the moral responsibility of employees to serve the poor and build trust between the public and the government. Singh shared these thoughts during the launch of the New Year diary by the District Gazetted Employees’ Association on Tuesday at the collectorate in Kongarakalan.

E. Srinivas Rao, the State president of the association, encouraged employees to act as a bridge between the government and the people. He urged them to work sincerely to implement welfare schemes for the needy, which would enhance the government’s reputation. He stressed the importance of cooperation between employees and the administration to ensure the successful execution of these initiatives.

Rao also raised some demands during the event. He requested that officials on Outer Ring Road (ORR) field visits be exempted from paying toll taxes. Additionally, he called for the restoration of a 24% House Rent Allowance (HRA) for employees working at the Ranga Reddy collectorate. He also asked for land to be allotted for the Telangana Gazetted Officers’ (TGO) building in the district and a room to be allocated for TGOs in the collectorate premises.

District president of the Telangana Gazetted Officers (TGOs), Dr. K. Rama Rao, highlighted that Ranga Reddy district leads in implementing welfare schemes for the poor and needy. He expressed the district’s commitment to maintaining this leadership and striving to secure the top position among all districts in the State.

The event was attended by several association members, including TGOs Central Association general secretary Satyanarayana, associate president Venkatesh, treasurer Srinivasulu, vice-president Nutan Kanti Venkat, and TNGO district president Laxman, along with other district office-bearers.
