The Mandal Kaala Deeksha (a 40-day spiritual retreat) for Ayyappa Swamy devotees has started at the Sri Dharmashasta Ayyappa Swamy Temple in Pebbair, Wanaparthy district. This event is being held during the holy month of Karthika Masam.
A total of 90 devotees have taken the sacred maladharam (holy chain) for this Karthika Masam. The temple has also begun its annaprasadam (food distribution) program for the devotees, which started on the first Monday of Karthika Masam. This service will continue until the Makara Jyothi Darshan in January.
During the event, Guru Swamis spoke to the devotees, stressing the importance of following the rules of Ayyappa Deeksha. They advised new devotees to stay disciplined, follow the guidelines, and maintain a connection with their Guru Swamis throughout the retreat.
The temple committee confirmed that daily food distribution will continue until the Makara Jyothi event. They explained that devotees should engage in Swamy Seva (service), chant Ayyappa Swamy’s name, and observe the 40-day retreat with dedication.
Since the Dasara festival, a total of 171 devotees have taken the Ayyappa Swamy Deeksha at this temple.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including Guru Swamy Vaddi Eeshwar, Punna Srinivasulu, Karnati Srinivas Goud, Meka Ellayya, Madhu Makani, and many others.
