Suryapet: Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister, Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy, stated that integrated residential schools will greatly improve Telangana’s education system. These schools will give students a competitive edge at the national level.
The Minister was speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Young India Integrated Residential School in Gaddipalli, Huzurnagar constituency, Suryapet district, on Sunday. He was joined by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu and Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

He further added that the Gaddipalli school, with a funding of Rs 200 crore, will be the first of its kind and serve as a model for other schools in the state. The Congress government has allocated Rs 5,000 crore for residential schools this year, a significant increase compared to the previous government’s Rs 70 crore allocation.
The Minister also talked about arrangements made for paddy procurement across the state. He mentioned that Telangana has achieved a record paddy production of 150 lakh metric tonnes, and the state government has implemented effective measures to procure this paddy.
He then announced that starting from Sankranti in January 2025, the Congress government will provide free fine rice to white ration card holders across Telangana. “This scheme will benefit 30.5 lakh ration card holders, with each eligible household receiving 6 kg of fine rice per person every month,” he added.
Speaking to the local community in Gaddipalli, Uttam expressed his gratitude for their support, referring to them as family members. He reassured them of the Congress government’s commitment to delivering on its welfare promises for a prosperous Telangana.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu also spoke at the event. He highlighted the ongoing infrastructure projects and welfare programs. He announced that the SLBC (Srisailam Left Bank Canal) tunnel project, which had been stalled by the previous administration, has resumed and will be completed within 20 months to meet the region’s irrigation needs. He also shared that approvals for the Yadadri Power Plant have been fast-tracked, allowing work to resume on this important energy project for the state.

In addition, he mentioned that the Congress government is upgrading all schools with better infrastructure and facilities, ensuring an improved learning environment for students.
