Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the president of the BJP party in Telangana, has not received any relief in court regarding a case registered against him for his involvement in a SSC question paper leak. The Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court has issued notices to Bandi, the headmaster of ZPHS school, and the State government to file their counter-affidavits by June 16.

During the hearing, L Ravichander, a senior counsel appearing for Bandi, requested that the court direct the police not to take coercive action against the MP, but this plea was declined by the Chief Justice. The Advocate-General Banda Shivananda Prasad informed the court that Bandi conspired with other accused to flare up the issue of the SSC exam paper leak since March 2023.

Prasad opposed granting any relief to the MP in the case, stating that instigation and abetment are serious crimes. He also informed the court that Bandi has yet to hand over his cellphone to the investigating officer, which is crucial evidence in the case. Ravichander argued that the ZPHS headmaster did not take measures to ensure that no one sneaked into the exam center and instead was more interested in filing a complaint against Bandi.

The CJ was hearing Bandi’s plea to stay all proceedings against him in crime no 60 of 2023 registered by the Kamalapur police. The hearing was adjourned to June 16.
