State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar has written an open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, demanding compensation for farmers whose crops were damaged in the recent hailstorm. He urged the CM not to delay the payment process in the name of conducting surveys and submitting reports. Sanjay also reminded KCR of his promise to provide free seeds and fertilisers to farmers and requested that Rythu Bandhu incentives be paid before the next monsoon season. Additionally, he asked for the implementation of a comprehensive crop insurance scheme in Telangana, keeping in mind the interests of farmers.

Sanjay criticised the State government for not implementing the crop insurance scheme, alleging that it was due to fear that the BJP would receive credit for it. He claimed that farmers were suffering losses due to the non-implementation of the scheme. Sanjay informed the CM that preliminary reports indicated that crops cultivated in five lakh acres were damaged in the hailstorm, and that the State government had not yet come up with a crop insurance scheme to help farmers.
