In Hyderabad, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, took quick action to help five villagers trapped by floods in Narmala, Gambhiraopet mandal, Sircilla district. He contacted Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who arranged for helicopters to rescue the stranded individuals.
The Defence Ministry sent four helicopters. Two of them successfully airlifted the trapped villagers—Pitla Narsimhulu, Dhyanaboyina Swami, Pitla Mahesh, Pitla Swami, and Jangam Swami. These villagers had been stuck for more than a day due to heavy rain and rising floodwaters.
Bandi Sanjay showed kindness by visiting the family of Pampukadi Nagayya, who died in the floods. He comforted them and gave Rs 1 lakh to Nagayya’s son, Sai. He also honored NDRF Assistant Commandant Damodar Singh with a shawl for the rescue efforts. The Minister praised the hard work of the NDRF personnel during the crisis.
Speaking to the media, Bandi Sanjay thanked Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah for their quick response. He commended Air Commander VS. Shiney and Group Captain HC Chattopadhyay for deploying helicopters from Hakimpet despite bad weather. He urged that politics be set aside in such situations and stressed the Centre’s cooperation with the state government. Two more helicopters arrived in Sircilla for ongoing rescue operations.
The Minister appreciated Sircilla District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha and the local SP for their crucial role in saving lives. He praised their dedication and support for the victims.
During his visit to Narmala, Bandi Sanjay briefly met with former Minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), who was also there to support flood victims. The two leaders greeted each other and acknowledged the seriousness of the situation.
