The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri Revanth Anumula, has expressed his delight over the recent announcement by Southwest Airlines, a major US airline, to establish a Global Innovation Centre in Hyderabad. The announcement was made during a meeting with the Southwest delegation at the Secretariat.
The meeting was graced by the presence of Minister Shri Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, along with top executives from Southwest Airlines: Mrs Lauren Woods, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer; Mr Tom Merritt, Chief Technology Officer; Mr Jason Shying, Head of Legal Counsel; and Mr Sarthak Brahma from HEX Advisory Group.
During the interactive session, Chief Minister Anumula welcomed the senior leadership of Southwest Airlines and appreciated their decision to set up the Global Innovation Centre in Hyderabad. He stressed that the move would support the company’s evolving business strategy and contribute to the city’s progress.
Chief Minister Anumula also took the opportunity to highlight Hyderabad’s growth story and shared the government’s ambitious vision for Telangana. He outlined the state’s plan to achieve a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047, as part of the state’s #TelanganaRising2047 vision.
The establishment of the Southwest Airlines Global Innovation Centre in Hyderabad indicates the city’s growing stature as a global hub for innovation and technology. It also aligns with the state government’s broader vision to position Telangana as a leading player in the global economy.
