In Hyderabad, BJP National General Secretary and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay expressed concern about the farmers. He urged the government to act quickly to help farmers who suffered losses due to untimely rains. Sanjay emphasized the need for immediate assistance to those farmers who had taken loans and planted their crops, only to see them waterlogged by unexpected downpours.
Sanjay pointed out that in the past decade, not a single farmer has received compensation for crop damage. He demanded that each affected farmer receive Rs.25,000 per acre in compensation, along with an immediate waiver of two lakh loans. Additionally, he called for the implementation of crop insurance to protect farmers from such losses in the future. Sanjay stressed that farmers should not be neglected or mistreated during the election season.
The recent untimely rains have caused widespread damage to crops in Siricilla district and other areas. The situation has exacerbated the challenges faced by farmers, who are already struggling with the impacts of the weather. Sanjay’s remarks highlight the urgent need for government support to address the plight of these farmers and ensure their livelihoods are protected.
